Selected  Works Seen through the Artist¹s Eye/ The Making of a  Painting:

Trip to the Pitti Palace  for an in-depth look at the Macchiaioli painters. This excursion features how alla prima paintings are constructed and emphasizes the role of the Macchiaioli in a clear art historical and sociological context.

Who are the Macchiaoli? Some of Italy's all time most important artists: Giovanni Fattori, Abbati, Silvestro Lega, Telemaco Signorini and more. They preceeded the French Impressionists.

Please take note that this is not a guided tour of the Pitti Palace with a tour guide but a but a private art lesson with a Fulbrigt Scholar.
